Retaining and Rock Walls in Ogden
A retaining wall does real structural work, holding back tons of soil and water, so it has to be built from the base up, not just stacked to look good. Why walls fail, and how we keep them standing
Most retaining walls that lean, bulge, or blow out didn't fail at the face, they failed behind it. Water builds up behind a wall with nowhere to go and the pressure pushes it over, or the base was never dug in and compacted so the whole thing settles and tips. We build the part you can't see: a solid, compacted base below grade, the right backfill, and drainage that relieves the water pressure. Built that way, a rock or block wall holds the hill and looks good doing it for the long haul.
