Utility Installation and Repair in Ogden

Getting water, sewer, and power to a build means digging, and digging around existing utilities is where experience pays off. We trench and install new utility laterals, tie into the main, and repair failed lines for homes and builders across Ogden and Northern Utah. Water lines, sewer laterals, storm drainage, and electrical laterals, we dig the trench to the right depth, set the line on a proper bed, and backfill and compact it so the ground over the trench doesn't settle and swallow your driveway or yard a year later. We locate first and dig carefully so nothing that's already in the ground gets hit.

Why the backfill matters as much as the dig

Anyone can open a trench. The part that separates a good utility job from a callback is how the line is bedded and how the trench is put back. Set a pipe on rock or backfill a trench loose and you get broken lines, low spots, and a driveway or lawn that sinks along the trench line. We bed the line right, backfill in the proper lifts, and compact it, so the ground over your new utility stays where we left it. And we locate and dig carefully around what's already in the ground.

Good to know

Utilities and Trenching questions, answered.

Can you run a new water or sewer lateral for a build?
Yes. We trench and install new water, sewer, and storm laterals for new homes and builds, set them at the right depth and slope, and tie them into the main or the existing service. We'll coordinate with your plumber and the local requirements.
Do you run electrical laterals too?
We do the trenching and dirt work for electrical laterals and conduit and coordinate with your electrician on the line itself. On bigger jobs we've handled the trenching for new water lines and a new electrical lateral together with the grading and driveway prep, all in one go.
My old water or sewer line failed. Can you dig it up and fix it?
Yes. We locate the failure, dig to it, replace or repair the line, and backfill and compact the trench so it holds. We'll get your yard or driveway put back as close to how it was as we can.
How do you avoid hitting existing utilities?
We have the lines located before we dig and then dig carefully around them, hand digging where it's tight. Working around live utilities without hitting them is a big part of doing this work right.
